BARRIE, Ont. - Another chapter will be written in the already storied rivalry between the Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (29-9, 18-5 OCAA) and Humber when they meet in the OCAA Championship Game (March 2, 5pm - Georgian College, Barrie) for the 11th time. 

Sheridan (20) and Humber (25) have played for the Ontario title a combined 45 times, and a Championship edition of The Game has occurred more often than the total gold medal appearances from all but one institution. Only Mohawk (13) has played in the OCAA final more times than the two rivals have squared off against one another.

Since 1983, at least one of the two has appeared in 35 out of 36 provincial finals, with a 2007 meeting between Fanshawe and St. Lawrence as the lone exception.

Both sides are in the final after winning each of their playoff contests by double digits. Sheridan downed Algonquin 112-74 in the Round of 16, held off Fanshawe 110-99 in the quarter-final, and dethroned the reigning champions from Seneca in the semifinal, 84-63. 

Humber, meanwhile, picked up wins against St. Lawrence (83-68, in the Round of 16), Georgian (88-61, in the quarter-final), and Niagara (94-47, in the semifinal) on their road to the title game. 

The regular season series was a split between the two, with Humber winning 81-78 on their home court on Nov. 7, while Sheridan closed out the regular season with a 90-80 home triumph.
