BARRIE, Ont. - After opening the game on a 10-0 run, the Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (29-9, 18-5 OCAA) put the clamps on Seneca, limiting them to a season-low 7-of-37 from 3-point range (18.9 per cent) in an 84-63 semifinal victory that propels them into the OCAA Championship Game. 

"I was very pleased with our energy and our compete level," head coach Jim Flack said. "I've been on the other end of those, so I feel bad for (Seneca head coach) Jay (McNeilly). When shots won't fall, it's very deflating. We shot it well, so the situation snowballed. We were fortunate tonight, but fortune often smiles on effort, and our effort was top shelf." 

By the end of the opening quarter, the Bruins had run their lead to 18 (27-9) as Seneca connected on just 3-of-16 attempts from the floor, including 1-of-13 from the perimeter. Sheridan, meanwhile, ran an efficient ball-sharing offence, notching 10 assists on 11 made buckets. 

The margin swelled to 26 by halftime, as the Double Blue led 48-22, and topped out at 34 early in the fourth. 

Nick Campbell was named player of the game for Sheridan, scoring a game-high 17 points to go with eight boards, and five assists. Four other Bruins hit double figures, led by Jemol Edwards with 15, and followed by Kahleek Bakari-Whyte, Stefan Simpson, and Romar Subban, who each had 10.

The Double Blue will await the winner of the Humber-Niagara semifinal, with the title tilt set for 5pm on Saturday, March 2.
