Sue Alexander-Whelan

Sue brought a wonderful combination of size and athleticism to her hitter’s role, playing for Hal Watson from 1980-82 during which time she was team captain and selected MVP.

She was outstanding in her senior year, becoming an OCAA All-Star in leading the Bruins to the Central Region Championship. Her efforts that season also brought her recognition as Sheridan’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Sue’s continuing dedication and enthusiasm saw her continue on as an assistant coach for two years after graduating from Business Administration in 1982.
With Grant Clatworthy, Sue helped coach Sheridan’s only OCAA championship in 1985 and saw Sheridan finish fifth at the CCAA championship in Regina.
In 2000, Sue had the honour of being Sheridan’s only OCAA female Millennium Athlete.

Sue’s contributions to Sheridan’s women’s sport history as both player and coach made her a worthy inductee in the Sheridan Bruins Hall of Fame.
