Eric Duncan is a graduate of the School of Business.

The team was a cast of characters with names like Gino, Lamby, Mad dog, Knobby, Gronk and the Jet. Leading the way was the line of Rob “Herbie” Redshaw, Kim “Zipper” Grant and the catalyst, Eric “Foxy” Duncan. With a long flowing red mane and a crafty approach to the game it was easy to see why there was no more appropriate moniker.

The line tore up the OCAA in 73-74 on their way to Sheridan’s first ever provincial crown. It was a dominant display winning the Championship tournament in Kirkland Lake over the home town Northern Huskies and perennial powerhouse St.Clair Saints.

The high-flying offence was put together by Coach Doug Peters with the trio potting 155 goals in their 2 years together.

The Bruins finished 1st in both years Eric played, going 14-3-2 in 1973-74 and 20-2-1 in 1974-75 but losing the rematch with St.Clair in a heart breaker 7-6.

Eric’s leadership and production was a model of tenacity consistency. In 42 games his career OCAA scoring was 58 goals and 72 assists for 130 points, ranking his totals second on the all-time Bruins list, an amazing 3.1 points per game average.

The Bruins set a league team record for most goals (215) in a season in 1974-75. Eric came 2nd both years in league scoring and was named MVP in hockey in 1973-74 and was selected Sheridan’s Athlete of the Year in 1974-75.
