Winter sports start this weekend!

Welcome back, Bruins!

We hope you had a restful and joyous holiday season. Before you know it, it will be varsity playoffs, here's a quick recap of the 2024-25 season.

After a tough end to the first half of the season, both the Men's and Women's Volleyball teams are gearing up for rematches against the Fanshawe Falcons on Saturday, January 11th. Both teams saw their last wins on November 2nd where they won straight sets against the Boreal Vipères. Both teams are ready to turn the page and start the second half of their season with renewed energy and determination. After facing a challenging stretch of seven consecutive losses, both the womens' and mens' teams are confident that their hard work and commitment will pay off as they head into the second half of the season with a fresh mindset and renewed focus.

On the basketball court, the Men's team saw a five-game win streak in November, recording a new season's best of 112-98 against the Redeemer Royals on November 19th. Leading the team was starting shooting guard Jeziyah Excell-Johnson, scoring 29 points and four assists. Meanwhile, the Women's team snatched their first win of the season on November 15th against the Conestoga Condors with a final score of 73-46.

The men's basketball team is riding high with a strong 7-3 record, showcasing impressive teamwork, skill, and resilience. With each game, they continue to build chemistry and are fully focused on pushing their momentum forward as they aim for a successful second half of the season. Though the women's basketball team is currently facing some tough challenges with a 1-8 record, their unwavering determination and growth are evident. The players are committed to learning from each game, and their focus remains on improving every day, with an eye on finishing the season stronger than ever.

Although both teams faced losses in December, the Bruins are starting the new year on the road against the St. Clair Saints on Saturday, January 11th . And don't miss out on the highly anticipated Sheridan Bruins vs. Humber Hawks matchup, or rather "The Game," being held on Wednesday, Feb. 5th at Humber.

The Bruins Double-Blue spirit is alive and well, and both the Volleyball and Basketball teams are back in action, ready to give their all as they push forward into the second half of the season. Stay tuned for exciting matchups ahead—our teams are ready to make their mark!
