Women finish second, men third in final cross country tune-up race

THOROLD, Ont. - In their final race before the OCAA Championship, the Sheridan Bruins cross country team put together a strong performance with the women finishing second, while the men were third.

"It was a really small race, but a great tune-up for the OCAA (Championship) next weekend," head coach Danny Webster said. "The majority of the team was much faster than last year in the same race, while a few ran pretty much the same time. Overall, I think we'll be ready to roll next weekend."

Olivia Sidock ran the third fastest time, clocking-in at 19:36.4, with Yonta Gillespie (21:33.3) and Erin Kinninmont (21:34.3) about two second behind.

On the men's side, Cole Bond ran the sixth-best time at 23:40.6, followed by Matthew Reeve (24:15.1) and Andrew Convery (24:17.7).

The team will run for the OCAA Championship on Oct. 27, hosted by Centennial at the University of Toronto - Scarborough campus.
