Women's rugby looking to begin and end season on home turf

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's rugby team are hoping to have their 2018 campaign begin and end on home turf, as they announced today their 2018 schedule dates, with specific match-ups still to be unveiled.

"We're looking forward to this season," head coach Tamara Dixon said. "We have a strong core group of vets returning as well as some solid newcomers. We have a tough division, but knowing the championship will be on our field gives us a lot of incentive to perform our best."

The league will be comprised of an East/West Division format for the first time, with the Double Blue in the West Division alongside Conestoga, Humber, and Seneca. The top three teams from each division will advance to the OCAA Championship on Nov. 3 at Sheridan, with the event co-hosted alongside Humber.

Sheridan will play each of their divisional foes three times and will also square off against each of the teams in the East Division - Algonquin, Durham Fleming, Loyalist, and St. Lawrence - one time.

West Division play will open on Sept. 22 at Sheridan, followed by a trip to Conestoga on Sept. 29.

Fleming will host the inter-division weekend on Oct. 13 and the regular season will wrap up on Oct. 20 at Seneca.
