BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team continues adding to their 2019 recruiting class, securing the commitment of guard Laura Jareckas (Mississauga, Ont.).

"We are thrilled to have Laura on our roster for the upcoming season," head coach Sean Douglas said. "We're very impressed with her ball handling and fluent shooting stroke. We're getting an experienced player who will add depth for us at either position in the backcourt."

A product of St. Francis Xavier Secondary, Jareckas is a former team MVP and she also spent time at the club level with Oakville Vytis and Oakville Venom JUEL.

"I chose Sheridan because I believe that the strong and grounded athletic and academic programs will provide the right environment and structure, but also pilot my growth as a player and individual to uncover greater possibilities," she said.

Jareckas has accepted an offer to the Business program at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga.
