Women's basketball unveils first 2019 recruit commitment

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team announced today the commitment of guard Jaedyn Dunkley (Brampton, Ont.), their first addition in the 2019 recruiting class.

"We're very happy to have Jaedyn join us for the upcoming season," head coach Sean Douglas said. "She brings toughness and a great shooting stroke from the 3-point line, but aside from that she is a high-character player that has great leadership qualities. We're very excited to see how she develops this summer, leading into next season."

The 5'9" guard is a product of the St. Marguerite D'Youville program, and has been a member of the GTA West club team. She bookended her high school career with two major highlights: scoring 32 points in her first game, while wrapping up her senior season as a team captain.

Dunkley is looking forward to putting on the Double Blue, and is especially excited about the emphasis the team coaching staff puts on developing all aspects of the student-athlete journey.

"I quickly found out that Sheridan is extremely focused on pushing academic success and motivating you to pursue nothing but greatness," she said. "The coaches let it be known there is no basketball without getting the school work done first, so I already feel like I'm right at home."

Dunkley has accepted an offer to the Police Foundations program at the Davis Campus in Brampton.
