BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (17-8, 11-3 OCAA) held Conestoga to 24 points over the final 30 minutes and picked up a 74-40 victory. 

"We executed our defence with great discipline and it showed in the fact that we forced 29 turnovers. Our goal was to force them into tough decisions and win the rebounding war," head coach Sean Douglas said. "Offensively, Theresa Brown was very aggressive out of the gate and it kind of set the tone for the rest of the team and the pace we wanted to play at."

After leading 21-16 at the end of the first, the Double Blue blew the game wide open in the second frame. They limited Conestoga to seven points in the period, holding them without a field goal over the final 5:18, and forcing 11 turnovers, to open a 48-23 halftime lead. 

Although the Bruin attack sputtered in the third quarter with only eight points, their lead was insurmountable at that point and their 18 fourth-quarter points was still more than the 17 Conestoga put up in the second half. 

Brown scored 25 for a second straight game to lead the way, while Sydney Charvis (12) and Courtni Martin (11) were also in double figures. 

The club now has a nine-day layoff, and will host Niagara on Jan. 29 (6pm).
