Men's volleyball continues adding to 2019-20 roster

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team announced today their second addition in the 2019 recruiting class, with the commitment of middle Jason Ashley (Toronto, Ont.).

"We are really excited with Jason's commitment. He is extremely athletic, has a great desire to get better, and coaches love to work with players like that," head coach Frank Pento said. "He also adds size and depth to our roster in the middle position. We have high hopes for Jason's development and can't wait to begin working with him."

Ashley played club ball with Toronto West and attended Weston Collegiate Institute. He has accepted an offer to the Visual and Creative Arts program at the Trafalgar Campus in Oakville.

"I chose Sheridan because while I was researching colleges many teachers told me that Sheridan College was the place to go for arts," Ashley said. "I was already planning to go there for school, so once I found out they also had a good volleyball team, I was convinced."

Although he is joining an experienced roster, Ashley is hoping he can make solid contributions in a variety of ways.

"I will encourage the team to do better," he said. "Whether it is through a good play, or just verbal encouragement, whatever the team needs, I will do what I can to help."
