Men’s soccer to open season at championship host George Brown

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team will draw the curtain on the OCAA season in the same place they hope it will ultimately conclude, travelling to play 2018 Championship host George Brown on Sept. 7.

"It's a tough test right out of the gate," head coach Andrew Seuradge said. "We know they're a good side and we haven't matched up as well with them in recent years as we would have liked. We need to play for a full 90 minutes to get the result we want."

Since OCAA divisional alignment was re-drawn for the 2015 season, the Bruins have posted a 1-4-1 record against their now Central Division foes. George Brown has won the last four meetings, with the Bruins conceding at least three goals in each and a total of 13 in those contests.

Sheridan has struggled to find consistency early in those match-ups, as the Huskies have notched at least one goal inside the opening quarter-hour in all four meetings, and 11 of their 13 markers have come before the interval. Seuradge says that not allowing them to get comfortable early will be a major key.

"We need to set the tone early and hopefully we can score the early goal and put them under pressure," he said.

Sheridan and George Brown will also square off in the Bruins' home opener on Sept. 20.
