Men's soccer goes unbeaten to claim Redeemer Cup, women post 1-1-2 record

ANCASTER, Ont. - Another tournament and another victory for a Sheridan Bruins soccer team, this time it was the men's team (7-2-1) going unbeaten and winning a dramatic penalty shootut against St. Clair in the final to claim the Redeemer Royals Cup.

The Double Blue swept their way through the round robin portion of the tournament, downing Humber, Mohawk, Laurier-Brantford, and Conestoga to set up the title-game clash.

Meanwhile, the women's team (6-1-2) was unable to advance out of group play, defeating Laurier-Brantford, falling to Mohawk, and posting a pair scoreless draws against Humber and Conestoga.

After playing in tournaments in back-to-back weeks, the teams will be out of game action for three weeks when they will play host to the Sheridan Invitational on Feb. 16.
