Women's soccer claims title in 1st indoor tournament, men's soccer falls in SF

PICKERING, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (5-0) conceded just two goals while scoring 19 times in five games on their way to winning the Centennial Invitational, the first tournament on the OCAA indoor circuit.

After going 4-0 in pool play - downing UTM, Laurier-Brantford, Georgian, and Lakehead-Orillia - the Bruins edged Conestoga 2-1 in the championship game. 

On the men's side, Sheridan (2-2-1) fell 2-1 to George Brown in the semi final, after holding off Laurier-Brantford 1-0 in the quarter-final round. They advanced out of group play in third place in Pool A after posting a win against Lakehead-Orillia, a tie against Centennial, and suffering a defeat to UTM. 

Both teams will resume their indoor campaigns at Redeemer next weekend, with the women's tournament taking place on Friday, Jan. 25, followed by the men on Saturday, Jan. 26.
