Soccer teams come up short in home tournament

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's (13-3-2) and women's (9-3-3) soccer teams came home empty handed in their final exhibition tune-up, with the men falling to UTM in the final, while the women were knocked out of contention George Brown in the semi final.

The men's team didn't concede a goal prior to the final, defeating St. Clair (2-0) and Conestoga (4-0), while playing to a scoreless draw against Redeemer to wrap group play.

They blanked Fanshawe 2-0 in the semi final before falling to UTM.

On the women's side, it was a sluggish start for the Bruins, tying Redeemer 1-1 and falling 1-0 to Conestoga, before keeping the sheet clean, 2-0, against St. Clair to advance to the semi finals.

They were unable to solve George Brown, however, and were bounced 1-0.

Both teams will be in Group E on the final day of OCAA Indoor Regional play, with their stage hosted by Seneca.
