Men's volleyball downs St. Clair to end slide

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (6-8, 4-7 OCAA) snapped a 5-game losing streak, downing St. Clair 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-16).

"It was a good performance and we're happy to pick up the win," head coach Frank Pento said. "Hopefully we can keep some of this positive momentum on our side as we make our playoff push."

The Bruins hit at .296, producing 32 kills, while St. Clair could only muster 19 kills on .096 hitting. Adding three blocks and six aces, Sheridan held a 41-24 advantage in total offence.

Andrew Cianci scored a game-high 13 points on 11 kills and two aces, while Richard Davids hit double figures for the first time since the season opener at Mohawk with 11 kills.

The Double Blue are back in action on Jan. 17 with a trip to Niagara. Last time these two sides met, they played a 5-set thriller.
