OAKVILLE, Ont. - It was a seesaw battle the whole way with the most narrow of margins making the difference for the Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (5-5, 3-4 OCAA) in a 3-2 (31-29, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12) loss to Niagara. 

"It was so close the entire match, I'm just proud of the way we maintained our composure and kept battling," head coach Frank Pento said. "When it's really tight like that, even the smallest of things can turn the match. When Niagara swung the momentum their way late in the fourth, we couldn't quite keep pace in the fifth." 

The Bruins hit at .292 (61 kills and 21 errors on 137 attacks) and topped Niagara in nearly every statisical category - including total offence (76-60), kills (76-60), and digs (47-44) - but they also made nine more errors - 21-15 attacks and 25-22 serving - along the way. 

Liam Butchereit posted his third double-double of the season with new career highs in points (23) and kills (19), while also posting 11 digs, three aces, and a block. Parvir Jhajj - 22 points on 18 kills, two aces, two blocks - and Andrew Cianci - 17 points on 15 kills and two blocks - were also in double figures. 

The Double Blue will wrap up the first semester with a road trip to take on Fanshawe (Dec. 1) and St. Clair (Dec. 2).
