KITCHENER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (13-12, 8-10 OCAA) closed out the regular season in winning fashion, defeating Conestoga 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 15-25, 25-16).
The Bruins hit at .254 for the match and at least .275 during the three sets they won, they leading to 51 kills and 66 points of total offence.
Shi-ann Williams led the way with 17 points, converting 23 attacks into 15 kills, while Tamia Cooper-Evelyn was also in double figures with 16 points.
The Bruins will travel to Canadore (15-3 OCAA) on Feb. 16 for crossover playoff match-up, with the winner advancing to the OCAA Championship hosted by Cambrian. The two sides squared off during the Wannamaker Invitational in October, with the Double Blue earning a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-17) victory.
Blue notes: Rachel Abrahams fell one dig shy of matching her career best of 22 in a match, but did set a new personal best with 132 digs, averaging 2.4 per set.
