Comeback bid falls short for women's volleyball in 5-set loss to Niagara

WELLAND, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (9-10, 4-8 OCAA) nearly pulled themselves out of a 2-0 deficit - forcing a fifth set and holding an 8-7 lead at the changeover - but their comeback bid ultimately fell just shy, suffering a 3-2 (27-25, 25-22, 17-25, 23-25, 15-11) loss to Niagara.

"We dug ourselves a pretty big hole going down 0-2," head coach Scott Hunt said. "After inserting a few new players into the third set, we started to play with better energy. The girls coming in mid-match did a great job getting us back on track. Unfortunately at the end of the fifth set we made too many first contact errors which allowed Niagara to pull away."
