OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (9-9, 4-7 OCAA) engaged in a close battle against St. Clair, but ultimately dropped a 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 26-24) decision.
"We played really well for most of the match; probably the best we've played all year. Unfortunately we had a tough time executing late when the sets were on the line," head coach Scott Hunt said. "We've got to find a way to get over the hump and play at that same level for an entire set."
The Double Blue held advantages in total offence (39-38), kills (23-21), blocks (10-7), and digs (47-39), but also made eight more combined attack and service errors (26-18).
A balanced attack from Sheridan saw nine points from Tara Aune on five kills and four blocks, followed by Tamia Cooper-Evelyn with eight points on six kills, one ace, and one block.
Sydney Romans and Amanda Manley led the way at the defensive end with 12 and 11 digs respectively.
The Bruins will look to get back into the win column when they travel to Niagara on Jan. 17.
