Women's volleyball adds libero for 2018-19

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team continue adding to their roster for next season, announcing the commitment of libero Jamie Budnikas (Georgetown, Ont.).

"Jamie is a dynamic player who will add depth to our libero position this season," head coach Scott Hunt said. "She has a natural feel and a very high volleyball IQ. I'm confident she'll be able to help stabilize our serve reception and defence right away."

Budnikas played club ball for the Georgetown Impact for six seasons, garnering a team MVP award, while capturing a Division 2 gold medal and a silver at the East Coast Championships. She also played for Georgetown District High School.

She has accepted an offer to the Kinesiology and Health Promotion program at the Davis Campus in Brampton.

"I chose Sheridan because of the unique Kinesiology program which offers a different learning style than a traditional university program," she said. "The Brampton campus is close to home as well which I like. Sheridan has everything I wanted and I was given an opportunity to keep playing volleyball so it was a great fit for me."
