Women's volleyball announce first commit in 2018 recruiting class

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team announced today the first member of their 2018 recruiting class, with the commitment of setter Brittany Dunlop (Barrie, ON).

"We are very excited to have Brittany in Double Blue. Her speed and tenaciousness will be an asset to our setting position," head coach Scott Hunt said. "What impressed me the most about Brittany is her competitiveness coupled with her strong, positive demeanour on the floor. She will fit in well with our team."

She was also a member of the girls volleyball team at Eastview SS, winning the GBSSA title in 2016 and qualifying for OFSSA in 2017 and 2018.

During her club and high school career, Dunlop earned three major individual awards as female athlete of the year in 2015, recepient of the tenacity award in 2016, and being named co-MVP in 2017.

She has accepted an offer to Sheridan's Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy program.

"Athletic Therapy has always been the career path for me and Sheridan has the best program to guide me through to my dreams," Dunlop said. "Sheridan really caught my interest with the friendly atmosphere, great staff, and their amazing facility for Athletic Therapy. I am very excited to be able to continue with my passion with the Bruins volleyball team. Everyone is so welcoming and kind, and I can't wait to carry on my volleyball career with these amazing ladies and great staff."
