Cooper-Evelyn named CityNews Athlete of the Week

OAKVILLE, Ont. - Second year outside hitter Tamia Cooper-Evelyn was featured on CityNews Toronto, being named their Athlete of the Week for Dec. 12. 

The Brampton, Ont. native is averaging 1.7 points and 2.2 digs per set this season, but has since dramatic increases in those numbers over the final two weeks of the first half.

Cooper-Evelyn is averaging a double-double over her last four contests, putting up 10.3 points and 10.8 digs in her last four matches.

In a two-match homestand over the first weekend in December, she posted a pair of double-doubles, with 13 points and 11 digs against Boreal, and following that up with 12 points and 16 digs in a five-set thriller against Cambrian. 

The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (5-4 OCAA) will resume OCAA West play when they host St. Clair on Jan. 13.
