OAKVILLE, Ont. - For the third time in four years, the Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (3-0) claimed the title in the Wannamaker Invitational, defeating Cambrian 3-1 in the final.
"We had a great weekend in terms of our results. I was very pleased with our consistency," head coach Scott Hunt said. "With a large number of returning players, we were able to pick up where we left off last year."
The Bruins opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over George Brown, and advanced to the final with a five-set win over Centennial - crawling out of a 2-0 hole to do so.
They will begin OCAA West play at home on Oct. 28 (4pm) when they host Mohawk.
