Lady Bruins add Nipissing transfer

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team continues to make use of their off-season by adding more depth, announcing the commitment of middle Taylor Ley, a transfer who played the last two seasons at Nipissing University.

"Sheridan's Athletic Therapy program provided a more specialized academic experience towards what I wanted," said Ley. "I'm passionate about athletic therapy and want to pursue it as a career. I also love volleyball and to have an opportunity to continue my volleyball career gives me the best of both worlds."

"We are very excited Taylor is joining our program," added head coach Scott Hunt. "She has played at a very high level being in the OUA for two seasons. With her experience playing at the post-secondary level, she will be able to take on a leadership role by helping our younger players transition to the next level. I think she can be an impact player in our league."

A native of Orillia, Ley spent six seasons — including three on the 18U squad –playing for the Orillia Suns before her time at Nipissing.

Last season she appeared in all 19 matches for the Lakers, averaging 1.6 points and 0.7 blocks per set and posted a career high 11.5 points (seven kills, three solo blocks, three block assists) in a 3-2 win over Brock on the road.
