2016-17 roster continues to take shape

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The roster for the Sheridan Bruins women’s volleyball team continues to take shape ahead of the 2016-17 season, announcing today the commitment of left side Tara Aune.

“Tara is a gamer and loves to win. What makes her a great player is her ability to stay confident and enthusiastic when the pressure is on and the going gets tough,” head coach Scott Hunt said. “Her attitude will be infectious in our gym and will help to build a winning culture.”

“I’ve heard a lot of great things about the [Kinesiology and Health Promotion] program and professors at Sheridan,” added Aune. “Also Scott is strong coach and I have heard great things about the volleyball program. I’m really excited about playing this season.”

The Pickering, Ont. native was the senior player of the year at Pickering High School — the rival school of Hunt’s alma mater Sinclair Celtics with whom he had many battles against in high school ball — and has been playing club ball for seven seasons.

Aune most recently played for Toronto Diamonds 18U team, where they claimed a Tier 2 bronze medal at provincials.

She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Kinesiology and Health Promotion program at the Davis Campus in Brampton.
