Lady Bruins add middle for 2016-17

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team continue to put the pieces in place for their 2016-17 campaign, announcing today the commitment of middle Bailey Gilbert.

"I chose Sheridan because I've heard great things about the Athletic Therapy program and how well it prepares you for a career in that field, and then to be able to play volleyball on top of that is great," Gilbert said. "I came to watch the team play a couple of times last season and it just made me feel comfortable and like this would be home."

"One of our weaknesses this past season was the ability to generate points with attack and block and Bailey will immediately help us in that area," head coach Scott Hunt said. "Her athleticism and physicality will help us become a more imposing team at the net. Bailey also has a great attitude and works really hard which makes her well-suited for our program."

Gilbert hails from Simcoe, Ontario and has been a member of the Simcoe Xtreme club program for two seasons.

At the high school level, her Holy Trinity squad has won two CWOSSA championships and finished fifth this year at OFSAA.
