Women's volleyball add to 2017-18 roster

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team continue adding pieces to their 2017-18 roster, announcing today the commitment of outside hitter Darby Sewell.

"Darby is going to be a great fit with our group. Her story reminded me a lot of current Bruin Katelyn Long as she's flown a bit under the radar being from Northern Ontario," head coach Scott Hunt said. "She is a dynamic outside hitter with impressive speed and a great jumping ability. Darby will add some depth to our lineup and has a ton of potential to be an impact player in the league."

The 5'7" native of Sault Ste. Marie was the MVP of her White Pines Vocational and Collegiate squad in 2015/2016, while being named an All-Star in 2015 and earning the Coaches Award, also in 2015.

Sewell has accepted an offer to the Makeup for Media and Creative Arts program at the Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville and is eager to wear the Double-Blue.

"I chose Sheridan College because I love the atmosphere and vibe there," she said. "The people are friendly and I am excited to start a new chapter in my education. I want to meet new friends and play the sport that I am most passionate about in life. I feel very privileged to be a new member of the Bruin squad."
