Women's volleyball announce first recruit in 2017-18 class

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team announced today the first commitment to their 2017-18 recruiting class, with the addition of middle Shi-Ann Williams.

"Shi-Ann is a great addition in many ways. Her height and athleticism will help our team defence with her ability to block," head coach Scott Hunt said. "She's super long which will frustrate opposing attackers, so I'm excited to see what she can do at the next level."

"Sheridan was a natural fit for me," added Williams. "They have an amazing art program and I'm really excited to be going there."

The 6'1" Scarborough native competed for her high school team at L'Amoreaux Collegiate Institute and played club ball with the Toronto Diamonds, where in 2015-16 she was a teammate of current Bruin Tara Aune.

During the 2014-15 club season she won the award for Most Improved Player on her U17 team.

Williams has accepted an offer to the Art Fundamentals program at the Trafalgar Campus in Oakville.
