REXDALE, Ont. -- The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (10-5, 4-2 OCAA) travelled to Rexdale on Thursday night to take on the undefeated Humber Hawks, falling in straight sets 25-15, 25-18 and 25-14.

The Bruins were able to keep pace with the Hawks in the beginning of the first set as Humber had only a one point advantage at 10-9.

However, a long run of points by Humber allowed them to take a substantial lead as they ended up winning the set 25-15.

It was a similar theme in the second set as Sheridan was only down by 3 points late in the set at 16-19.

Another late Humber surge allowed them to take control of the second set and take it 25-18.

The third set was never close as Humber got out to a 9-1 lead which proved to be too big of a margin for the Bruins to chip away at, as Humber ended up winning the set handily at 25-14 and the match 3-0.

Bruins head coach Scott Hunt had these comments when reflecting on the match.

"First of all you have to give credit to Humber, they are a very strong team," he said. "They were able to put pressure on us the entire match which caused us some difficulty in our ball control. The match was decided by first contacts as they out-served us and out-passed us the whole match. We were behind most rallies because of that and it's hard to stop their offence when you aren't serving tough enough and not putting much pressure on their defence with our attack."

The Bruins have the weekend off, and will prepare for their next league match which is at home against Niagara on Saturday November 26th at 1pm.​
