Women's volleyball bounce back with win over Conestoga

KITCHENER, Ont. -- The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (10-4, 4-1 OCAA) travelled to Kitchener on Friday night to take on the Conestoga Condors, defeating them in straight sets with scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Right side Taylor Ley led the Bruins in points with 14 (10 kills, 4 aces), while libero Sydney Romans chipped in with 9 digs to pace the defense.

Kerri Matthews and Dana Renfrew split setting duties and combined for a total of 30 assists for the match.

Head Coach Scott Hunt was pleased with the result but understands his team has some tough competition to finish the semester.

"I think this match was important for us to get some confidence back in our game," he said. "We were a bit deflated after that tough five-set loss to Redeemer this past weekend. However, we have four tough opponents to finish the first semester, so these next few matches are going to be a good test for us to see what we're made of."

The Bruins next match will on the road this Thursday against the Humber Hawks.
