Women's volleyball set to open conference play on the road

OAKVILLE, Ont. -- Having already gotten quite a few exhibition contests to their credit, the Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (6-3) are ready to get OCAA West play started this weekend, when they travel to Sudbury for a pair against Cambrian and Boreal.

"Over the course of the pre-season we were able to roll our lineups for the most part. Having so many new players on our team this season is a challenge for us, but we we were able to work on getting everyone comfortable playing within our systems," head coach Scott Hunt said. "These matches gave us a good chance to evaluate individual performance levels while also identifying some areas of improvement for our team as a whole. We're excited to get our official season started this weekend in Sudbury and hope our squad can continue to grow each week as the season progresses."

Their pre-season began by winning the Fanshawe tournament, defeating St. Clair in the five-set thriller in the final.

They then hosted the Wannamaker Invitational and picked up a third place finish, having defeated Fleming and CMU, but dropping a contest to Centennial in the semi final.

During the Fanshawe tournament they also picked up a win over one of this weekend's opponents, having defeated Boreal 3-0.
