Women's soccer punches ticket to OCAA semi final

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (11-4-5, 2-1-2 OCAA) are into the OCAA indoor soccer medal round, finishing second in Pool B.

"It was really a story of two different days," head coach Paul Angelini said. "Yesterday we were crisp, we were clean; it was probably the best overall performance we've put together in the indoor season. Today was not that. We lacked intensity and made several mental errors. That's the bad news, but the good news is that it wasn't severe enough to cost us. We've got a tough test tomorrow, but I think if we get back to playing the kind of Sheridan soccer we played yesterday and we make the most of our chances, we'll be in good shape."

The Bruins draw a semi final match-up against their rivals from Humber, who claimed Pool A with a 3-0-1 record.

Sheridan picked up a pair of 2-0 wins on the opening day, downing Centennial and Conestoga.

They scored early in their day two tilt with Fanshawe, but couldn't quite hold out and were able to salvage a point after goalkeeper Savanna Wood made several key saves.

Making those stops meant the Double Blue still had an opportunity to win their group, but settled for a 2-2 draw with Mohawk in their final group stage game.
