Women's soccer set for indoor championship play

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (9-4-3, 0-1 OCAA) will kickoff their bid for an Ontario title against Centennial Thursday afternoon, when group play in the OCAA Indoor Soccer Championship begins at Redeemer.

"We need to do a better job of finishing our chances than we have in our last few games," head coach Paul Angelini said. "I think we've done a solid job of generating opportunities, but we just haven't had the touch required in the final third. We've done some work in practice to refine that, and hopefully it pays off."

The Bruins will complete the first day against Conestoga, before wrapping up group play Friday against Fanshawe and Mohawk.

The top two teams in the Bruins' group will advance to the medal round Saturday to square off against two teams from the other group - featuring Durham, George Brown, Humber, St. Clair, and Seneca - in a pair of 1 vs. 2 semi finals.

Sheridan won the bronze medal in three of the past six OCAA indoor campaigns.

Blue notes: The Bruins posted a 1-2-1 record against the opponents in their group so far this season. They beat Centennial, lost to and tied Mohawk, and lost to Conestoga.
