Offensive struggles keep women's soccer out of winners circle

ANCASTER, Ont. - After scoring at least two goals in each of their first seven games of the indoor season, the Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (8-1-2) struggled to find the back of the net, scoring just three times in four games, as they were eliminated from the Royal Cup in the quarter-final.

A 1-1 draw against Mohawk and a 1-0 win over UTM was enough to get the Bruins out of the group stage and into the knockout round, but they suffered a 2-0 defeat to St. Clair in the quarter-final.

They rounded out their day with a 1-1 draw against Seneca in a friendly, after both sides were knocked out of title contention.

The Double Blue will host the Sheridan Invitational on Feb. 17, marking their last tune-up prior to OCAA regional play on March 9.
