Women's soccer knocked from championship contention after late rally falls short

OAKVILLE, Ont. -- After spotting Mohawk a three goal lead, the Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (5-3-3 OCAA) saved the dramatics for late in the contest when they scored a pair of goals in the final five minutes, but will miss out on the OCAA Championship after a 4-2 loss.

"We just didn't get off to a great start and struggled to find our rhythm," head coach Paul Angelini said. "When we finally discovered some intensity late in the game I think you saw what we're capable of, but we had just dug ourselves too deep of a hole."

Taylor Campbell opened the scoring in the 21st minute for Mohawk, who also received goals from Gabrielle Krebs (52nd minute) and Michele DiDionisio (77th minute).

Kamila Swaby got the Double-Blue on the board in the 86th minute and Kendra Cooper pulled them within one in the 90th minute, before Krebs added the final tally in second half injury time.
