OAKVILLE, Ont. - With a try in the opening minute, the Sheridan Bruins women's rugby team (4-12 OCAA) got off to a strong start in their OCAA quarter-final clash against Loyalist, but allowed 28 unanswered points to suffer a 28-5 defeat.
"I'm proud of the way we battled," head coach Tamara Dixon said. "We knew it was critical to start strong and we managed to do that. Unfortunately we just couldn't match Loyalist's level for the remainder of the game."
With the loss, the Bruins dropped into the consolation game where they fell 20-7 to St. Lawrence. Loyalist, meanwhile, fell to Humber (19-5) in the semi final and Seneca (14-7) in the bronze medal game.
