Sheridan and Humber to co-host OCAA Women's Rugby 7's Championship

OAKVILLE, Ont. - For the second time in three years, the Ontario women's rugby sevens title will be handed out in Oakville, as Sheridan and Humber will co-host the 2018 OCAA Women's Rugby Sevens Championship on Nov. 3.

"We're excited to partner with our colleagues from Humber on this event," Sheridan rugby coordinator Tahir Khan said. "Our aim is to provide a quality championship experience for all participants and attendees."

OCAA women's rugby will follow a regional format this year with four teams (Sheridan, Conestoga, Humber, and Seneca) in the West Division, along with five (Algonquin, Durham, Fleming, Loyalist, and St. Lawrence) in the East.

Six teams will qualify for the championship - three from each Division - with the East and West regular season champions earning a bye directly to the semi final.

Sheridan hosted the inaugural OCAA Women's Rugby Sevens Championship in 2016 and was defeated by Seneca in the bronze medal game.
