KITCHENER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (13-4, 8-2 OCAA) held Conestoga without a point over the final 7:39 of the opening frame and never looked back in an 83-48 victory.

During the stretch where the Bruins held Conestoga scoreless, the home side was 0-16 from the floor, including 0-4 from 3-point range, while turning the ball over six times. Sheridan, meanwhile, racked up 20 points in that span and had 10 assists on 11 made baskets in the quarter to lead 26-6.

It was much of the same in the second period, marking a second straight contest when the Double Blue held their opponents to two single digit scoring quarters in the opening half, to lead 45-14 at the break. The second half saw a pair of 19-17 quarters in favour of the Bruins to round out the 35-point margin.

Sheridan shared the ball at the offensive end, putting up a season-high 27 assists on 35 field goals. An assist on 77 per cent of their buckets was a 16 per cent increase over their previous best this season when they had 14 helpers on 23 baskets against Lambton.

Theresa Brown had a game-high 19 points, while by three other Bruins - Courtni Martin (17), Sydney Charvis (13), and Corinne Fotopoulos (10) - were in double figures. The Bruins will wrap the first half of the regular season with a trip to Niagara on Dec. 6.
