Women's basketball have win streak snapped in loss to Humber

REXDALE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (9-10, 7-6 OCAA) had their four-game conference winning streak snapped, falling 104-62 to Humber.

"I'm proud of the effort tonight, especially some of the grit and fight-back we showed in the second half," head coach Willie Delas said. "Ultimately we dug too big a hole for ourselves and they have so many weapons, that you just can't dodge them consistently."

The Bruins struggled to find their offensive rhythm in the early going, with just two buckets in the first 6:58 seconds.

Humber - who opened the game on a 17-2 run - led 29-11 after one and 52-23 at the break.

Sheridan won the third quarter 28-21, but saw Humber close out the final nine minutes on a 31-9 run.

Brianna Stewart had a team-high 21 points, while Sydney Charvis (16), and Liana Rose Villegas (12) were also in double figures.

The Double Blue will look to bounce back when they host Lambton (4pm) on Jan. 27.
