Women's basketball wrap season with pair of losses

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (5-23, 4-14 OCAA) wrapped up their regular season with a pair of road losses, falling 72-55 to Lambton and 76-45 to St. Clair.

Against Lambton, the Double-Blue led 17-12 after the opening quarter but saw the home side score 22 in the second and trailed 34-30 at the break.

Sheridan managed to keep it a two-possession game throughout much of the third quarter, but a 12-3 run from Lambton to end the third and open the fourth, gave them a double-digit advantage they wouldn't relinquish.

Three Bruins were in double figures, led by Liana Rose Villegas (16) and followed by Theresa Brown (15) and Samantha Lovat (11).

Against St. Clair, the Lady Bruins trailed by five at the end of the first frame but saw their deficit balloon to 23 at the half after being held to four points in the second.

That lead proved to be too much to overcome and Sheridan never get the margin lower than 20 in the second half.

Brown led the way with 14 while Samantha Brownlee added 12.
