Women's basketball come up short in loss to Niagara

WELLAND, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (3-19, 2-10 OCAA) fell into an early hole against Niagara and could never recover in an 80-58 defeat.

"You have to give Niagara credit, they jumped us from the opening tip," head coach Willie Delas said. "By the time we really got ourselves into the flow of the game, the score had kind of gotten away from us. That will happen in sports sometimes, we'll just move on and continue trying to get better."

Niagara led 22-10 at the end of the first quarter and had pushed their advantage to 28, 49-21 at the break.

The Lady Bruins have a full week to re-group before facing their Division-leading rivals from Humber at home on February 4 (4pm).
