SCARBOROUGH, Ont. - Two weeks from their OCAA Championship run at Fanshawe, the Sheridan Bruins cross country team continues to round into form with the men placing third - their third-straight podium finish this season - while the women produced their best result (fourth) at the Centennial meet.

"I'm really proud of how well they all raced today," head coach Danny Webster said. "We have been having great training sessions at practice, and it really showed today in the meet. I think their confidence is up because of all their hard training. Both the men's and women's teams had a lot of personal bests in their races. I think a lot of the women finally learned how to run through pain today. They seemed to wrap their heads around the idea that they can run through discomfort and still be okay."

For the men, Cole Bond continued his strong freshman campaign, with a seventh place finish, followed by Matt Reeves (25th), Andrew Convery (23rd), and Brendan Saunders (24th) rounding out the Bruin qualifying times.

Sheridan's 68 points was just shy of St. Clair's 63 for second place, and was 12 points clear of fourth place Humber.

Erin Kinninmont (24th) was the top finisher for the women, followed by Marla Brown (28th), Monique Parlevliet (30th), and Alexanda D'Oliveira (39th).

The team will have one more tune-up race next weekend at Brock, before the OCAA Championships Oct. 28.
