Men's volleyball back on track with weekend sweep

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (8-10, 6-9 OCAA) swept a pair of weekend contests, downing Cambrian and Boreal 3-0 apiece. 

Against Cambrian, they rolled to a 25-21, 25-22, 25-9 victory, with advantages in total offence (48-28) and digs (37-15). 

Andrew Cianci posted a match-high 14 points on 12 kills and two aces, while Richard Davids was also in double figures with 10 points on nine kills and one ace. Eric Chien was one dig shy of his first career double-double after dishing out 28 assists.

Liam Butchereit needed 14 digs to break Jeremy Fantin's team record of 546 career digs, and finished the contest alone at the top after posting 15. 

The Double Blue closed out the weekend with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 downing of Boreal. 

They have three regular seasons contests remaining, with two against the two teams (Mohawk, Conestoga) just above them in the standings. They kickoff the final month with a trip to Redeemer on Feb. 1.
