Men's volleyball stumbles in home opener loss to Redeemer

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (4-3, 2-2 OCAA) stumbled in their home opener, falling 3-0 to Redeemer.

A slow start plagued the Bruins, as they dropped the first two sets (25-12 and 25-16) in relatively quick fashion. They managed to stay within range for much of the third, but faltered late and were closed out 25-21.

Redeemer put 46 points of total offence (31 kills, 10 blocks, five aces) while Sheridan hit at .025 and had nearly as many attack errors (14) as kills (16). They also had 12 service errors with no aces.

Andre Zopf led the Double Blue with eight kills, while Liam Butchereit posted a double-digit dig total (12) for the 25th time in his career.

Sheridan will have a full two weeks to re-group before hosting Conestoga on Nov. 17 (3pm).
