Men's volleyball add to 2017 recruiting class

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball continue adding to their 2017-18 roster, announcing today the commitment of libero/left side Michael Kong.

"Michael is a big pick up for our team," head coach Frank Pento said. "We have a reputation for playing solid defence and he'll fit in well with that. He's very athletic, knows the game well and can play multiple positions, so he definitely has all the tools to be an impactful player in his first year."

"I've heard a lot of great things about the media programs at Sheridan and that is what I want to do moving forward," added Kong. "The coaching staff know a lot about the game and I know I will learn a lot from them and become a better player."

The Burlington native played for Frank Hayden Secondary School and is a member of the Pakmen 18U team that is currently ranked number one in Ontario.

He is the younger brother of Justin Kong, who accumulated 1,566 assists and 319 digs over the past four seasons.

"I love how Sheridan plays and I'm excited to be able to follow in my brother's footsteps," he said.
