Bruins continue adding to 2016-17 roster

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball continue adding to their 2016-17 roster, announcing today the commitment of right side MacCauley Ross.

"I'm excited to be a Bruin and move forward with this successful team," said Ross. "My goals are to reach higher and do whatever it takes to help my team achieve its goals. I'm grateful for this opportunity to be part of this organization.

"Sheridan offers me a chance to go after both my passions. It allows me to pursue my career in film & media communications while getting to play the sport I love the most. Sheridan is a recognized leader in the film industry and its men's volleyball team has also been dominant in the court. I get the best of both worlds."

"I am extremely happy to be welcoming MacCauley to the Sheridan Bruins family," added head coach Frank Pento. "He is an extremely athletic and versatile athlete who can play multiple positions. With his club experience, positive attitude and strong work ethic we know he is going to be a great addition to our team."

Ross, a veteran of the KW Predators club program, has accepted an offer to the Media Fundamentals program at the Trafalgar Campus in Oakville.

At the high school level, Ross was part of a Central team that made the WOSSA final and his combined club and high school experience has helped prepare him to make the leap to the OCAA.

"I have been privileged to have the chance to have played in many high-level and premier tournaments this season and feel that I am ready to move on to the next step," he said. "My experience with the KW Predators and various coaches this season has prepared me for the college level."
