Bruins continue roster additions

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball continue adding to their 2016-17 roster, announcing today the commitment of left side Eric Chien.

"I decided on Sheridan for their esteemed Police Foundations program and the opportunity to play on a varsity team close to my home and family," Chien said. "I know many of the current players — including my brother — and am very excited to be a part of a team with them. I'm also excited to play with one of my current teammates [Liam Butchereit], who has also committed to the Bruins."

"We're very excited to have Eric on board," head coach Frank Pento said. "It's not a secret that we were going to have some big holes to fill after graduation this year, so we're hoping Eric can come in and be an impact player right away."

A member of the Pak Men club program, Chien has also played with the CONNEX nine-man team and believes that experience will help set him up to contribute right away.

"My goal for the upcoming season is to continue working my hardest and to put all of my energy into each practice," he said. "As for the team, they recently won a bronze medal so there is no doubt that this is the best opportunity for everyone to stay motivated and compete harder than before."
