NORTH YORK, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team (6-0-5 OCAA) will open play in the OCAA Championship Thursday (6pm), drawing a quarter-final matchup against the reigning Ontario champions from Durham (7-0-4 OCAA). 

"It's a tough draw, but there are no freebies for anyone in this tournament. With the quality and depth in our league, whomever comes out of this as champions are certainly going to have earned it," head coach Andrew Seuradge said. "We're just going to focus on playing our game, at our pace. We know we can create chances, we just need to put them away and see where that takes us." 

The contest presents a showdown of unbeatens, as neither Durham nor Sheridan have suffered a defeat this season. Coincidentally both sides come in as the runners-up in their division, with the Bruins trailing Humber while the Lords were a point back of Algonquin. 

Durham was slightly more prolific in the attacking third, putting up 35 goals on the year, in comparison to the Sheridan's 26. The Double Blue, meanwhile, were ever-so-slightly more stout defensively, tying Algonquin and Fanshawe for the fewest goals allowed in the OCAA with seven, while Durham was scored on eight times. 

Jeremy Bangala led the Lords with an East Division-leading 13 goals, while Nigel Buckley was second with seven, and Matthew Morris, Nate Paine, and Colin Reilly each scored three. 

Kevon Grant handled the bulk of the goalkeeping duties for Durham, turning aside 50 of the 57 shots he faced, while picking up four clean sheets.
