Five goal outburst powers men's soccer to bounce-back win

KITCHENER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team (2-1 OCAA) rebounded from a loss in the home opener by finding the back of the net five times in a 5-2 win over Conestoga.

"It was definitely a much better performance than what we should on Saturday," head coach Andrew Seuradge said. "Our boys did a really good job of responding tonight. Both times Conestoga scored, we had an answer within five or 10 minutes."

Jonathan D'Aguilar got the Bruins one the board with his first of the season in the 13th minute, with Conestoga pulling level in the 26th minute.

Sheridan would still hold a one-goal edge at the interval though, after Mathew Santos scored his second of the season in the 35th minute.

Francis Ameyaw added some insurance early in the second half and after Conestoga trimmed the margin back to one in the 58th minute, Santos completed his brace in the 63rd.

Reshaun Weekes rounded out the scoring in second half injury time.

Although happy with the result, Seuradge says his club still has some work to do in order to get where they want.

"I think we're a very talented side, but we can still get better," he said. "I think we've only scratched the surface of our potential and I think we'll get back to work in training and try to put ourselves in the best position to reach that potential."
